Scientist: Protein Purification Development:
Cambridge, MA
M.S. in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline with a minimum of 3-5 years process experience or Ph.D with at least 2 years relevant experience.
Must have a minimum of 5 years of process biochemistry laboratory skills including operation of bioanalytical systems such as gel electrophoresis, analytical HPLC systems, ELISA systems etc. A minimum of four or more years of prior experience in operating and troubleshooting protein process chromatography systems (such as the AKTA Explorer) and membrane separation systems (such as UF/DF systems) is required.
Candidates must have demonstrated ability to work independently in bioprocess laboratory setting, especially with regard to designing and executing protein chromatography/purification processes. Prior experience in antibody and/or recombinant protein purification scale up using chromatographic techniques and membrane separation techniques is essential. Prior work experience in a Process Development laboratory utilizing statistical experimental techniques (such as DOE), especially in the Protein purification area is highly desirable.
Prior experience in refolding and purifying recombinant proteins and enzymes derived from microbial expression hosts is a definite plus. Candidates must have demonstrated documentation skills as evidenced by laboratory notebooks, process development reports, internal and external presentations.
