Hiring: Senior Buyer

SUMMARY: 
 
The Senior Buyer/Planner is responsible for driving supplier management process improvements and simplifications to Best in Class, while driving the negotiating and purchasing and compliance of such for all materials, equipment, and services from suppliers as well as managing discrepant material returns back to the supplier and consider the expected material returns for inventory planning. Evaluates Supplier quotations for materials, and awards contracts and/or purchase orders. Utilizes proper resources and knowledge to plan for and accomplish all tasks inclusive of the support and management of lean manufacturing methods.
 
 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Under limited supervision, with initiative and dedication, performs tasks such as but not limited to the following:
 
1.    Analyzes output of Materials Requirement Plan (MRP). Purchases goods and services and considers all sources of inventory availability to ensure an adequate supply of material to support the company’s objectives.
2.    Possesses the skills necessary to drive Best in Class process improvements and simplifications such as auto release and blanket purchase order management with total support of Lean Manufacturing Methods.
3.    Ensures the effective use of company funds in the procurement of assigned commodities. Effectively manages company assets to ensure on time delivery of company material. Exercises prudence and good judgment in securing the best possible value for the funds expended.
4.    Maintains a good corporate image by conducting purchasing activities upon a solid foundation of honesty, integrity, and fairness.
5.    Executes the materials requirements plan and work orders to ensure a steady flow of material to support service requirements while driving continuing to minimize the asset investment while maximizing material availability to meet inventory availability plans on time. Specific duties include: analyzing material requirements; developing and implementing procurement strategies in total support of lean manufacturing operations; schedule requirements to the suppliers in support of lean manufacturing with on time deliveries; issue purchase orders and manage auto releases processes. Supporting the Vendor MRB process where needed inclusive of the creation of OSP orders, (Outside Processing Work Orders and Purchase Orders).
6.    Evaluates market conditions and trends. Plans specific short and long-range commodity objectives.
7.    Analyzes Field on hand inventory levels; reviews each item for on-time delivery delivery requirements. Develops and investigates sources of supply; issues request for quotation when applicable. Develops alternate sources if commodity is unavailable or when more economical products might be satisfactory. Prepares information required to process and issue purchase orders.
8.    Evaluates supplier performance on a regular basis. Reviews should include price, product quality, delivery and overall service level.
9.    Anticipates and negotiates possible price changes and in general develops a thorough knowledge of commodities assigned. Advise management of competitive situations, alternative supply sources, price increases, trends and supply/demand situations. Keep Production Control informed of lead-time requirements required for commodities assigned and any change in lead-time as they occur.
10.   Maintains familiarity with quality standards and educates/informs suppliers.
11.   Maintains effective communications with all departments.
12.   Maintains courteous, impartial, and objective dealings with suppliers.
 
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS:
 
Education & Experience:
·         Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience.
·         Must have previous successful experience and track record conducting, analyzing all related purchase order activity via Oracle.
·         8+ years previous experience in Supply Chain Management processes in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
·         You must be eighteen years or older.
·         You must submit your application through COS.
·         You must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process.
