The world of technology is changing at a rapid pace.     2. Data, Data, and More Data – Business has become a generator and collector of data. We want more data to make better and smarter decisions. With all this data we need new roles and skills to mange and analyze it in ways that are meaningful to business. The new roles include data architects, data integration engineers, IT planning analysts, along with growth in current roles like data and software engineers. In addition, more leadership roles will emerge to help guide the strategic goals and vision of the company based on the analysis of this data. Big data means big opportunities for IT.
    3. Wearables – This industry is more than Apple watches and Fitbits. This industry, the global wearables market, is expected to reach a value of 19 billion U.S. dollarsin 2018. These new technologies will assist business in training employees, providing hands-free guidance to their workers, creating better customer service, and verifying all the big data being created. The future role of IT will identify where and how this technology can streamline processes and mange the implementation and monitoring of such devices. Wearables, in the not so distant future, could make your mobile device a dated technology and usher in a new and expanded role for IT professionals.

Internet of Things – We are seeing the dawn of the Internet of Things (IoT), the IDC, in its 2014-2020 forecast, estimated that the global IoT market will grow from $1.9 trillion in 2013 to $7.1 trillion in 2020. Technology is part of almost everything we purchase today. The real need for business in the future is to have someone who can see how the communication of data among the various devices, users, and environments will lead to new opportunities and overcome People who can combine skills from hardware, engineering, programming, and analytics will be invaluable in the new era of IoT.

Cyber Security – As we shift our reliance onto Cloud based technologies, and move to a system where we can work from anywhere on almost any device, the ability to secure all of that data and information is paramount.
